Dalahome also offer a service to advise, design, make and paint bespoke Scandinavian styled pieces of furniture. Matt Kirby of MK Carpentry and I have collaborated on many projects designing and making pieces such as tables, bookcases and cupboards all with a Scandinavian feel. Where we haven’t been able to find the ideal piece for a client I have designed and painted a piece that Matt has built. We also take commissions for hope chests and jewellery boxes which make for beautiful gifts. 

We work mainly in pine and tulip wood. Swedish furniture is traditionally made from pine, but tulip wood is a soft light wood known for its stability and strength so it’s an alternative wood we enjoy using as it’s lovely to paint and provides for a wonderful bespoke finish.
